There are over 5800 commercial operators of UAS approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Perhaps now more than ever, it is essential to stand out from the crowd and IQ Verify have introduced a suite of three certifications to achieve this aim.
In recognition of the diversity of the UAS industry in both sector and organisational standards, IQ Verify have introduced these new certifications in a three stage progressive framework:
We recognise that one size rarely fits all. Whilst completion at each stage supports the satisfaction of later stages - and so is recommended for those organisations without any other formal certification - it is not compulsory. Organisations are free to select from the above list those certifications that best align to their existing business needs.
The Surveillance Camera Code of Practice (CoP) was issued by the Secretary of State under Section 30 of the Protections of Freedoms Act. It applies to all organisations recording, viewing or processing visual images/ information, including those relying on UAS.
Certification evidences a commitment to best practice, inclusive of privacy and data protection requirements . In October 2020, the first private sector UAS organisation was formally certificated against its requirements (source).

Privacy and Surveillance functionality for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS): ISO9001 is the internationally recognised standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS). Surprisingly, there were very few UAS specific ISO9001 certification schemes on the market and those that do exist are extremely usage specific.
IQ Verify are therefore proud to announce a fresh approach to ISO9001 that has been tailored to the privacy requirements integral throughout the entire UAS industry. It is the first ISO9001 certification scheme that has been developed to recognise and accommodate a range of UA purpose
Operational Procedures for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS): In 2019, BS ISO 21384‑3 was introduced to provide a framework against which the operational procedures for UAS organisations could be assessed. Incorporating a broad range of requirements - ranging from health and safety to operator specific, data protection to in flight operations and maintenance - the IQ Verify UAS Operations Gold scheme is the first certification scheme to formally assess against this essential organisational standard.
Included within the Gold Certification Scheme are key elements of ISO9001 and ISO45001 alongside more overarching privacy requirements as identified within the Surveillance Code of Practice 2013...
