An ISO standard is a specification for products, services, systems and procedures developed by the International Organisation for Standardisation and agreed by thousands of technical experts who work on ISO committees. The purpose of an ISO standard is to establish international best practice for businesses or persons to measure their level of excellence. against.  

Certification to ISO standards or British standards demonstrates that your organisation works to international or national best practice, demonstrating your credibility and competence to stakeholders and customers. Certifications are legally obligated in some industries, while in other industries they are often included in tender requirements. 

Accreditation is the formal recognition by an authoritative body of the competence to work to specified standards. EU law that states that UKAS are the only authoritative body who can Accredit Certification bodies. Only a Certification Body can state they are accredited by UKAS. 

IQ Verify are a UKAS accredited certification body number 8500.

If a certification / scheme is accredited by UKAS - a client will be "certified to a UKAS accredited scheme."

Not all certifications / schemes provided through IQ Verify are accredited by UKAS, some are not required to be accredited, some are in the process of achieving accreditation.

Certification represents a written assurance by a third party of the conformity of a product, process or service to specified requirements. IQ Verify, as a Certification body, certifies our successful clients.

If a certification / scheme is NOT accredited by UKAS - a client will be certified "by IQ Verify."

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is the sole national accreditation body for the United Kingdom. UKAS is recognised by government, to assess against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services. 

Accreditation by UKAS demonstrates the competence, impartiality and performance capability of Certification Bodies. In short, UKAS ‘checks the checkers’. UKAS is a non-profit-distributing private company, limited by guarantee. UKAS is independent of Government. 

Transferring your ISO certification to IQ Verify is simple. Whether you're just looking to change your certification body or seeking better support from a UKAS accredited provider, we can help you with a free of charge, no fuss transfer. 

Here’s what happens:

1. Submit your application form with your current valid certificate with your last audit report including evidence of closure for any NCs raised within.
2. On review and approval of the eligibility to transfer, one of our customer service team will contact you to confirm details and provide you with a formal quotation for the next audit according to your existing cycle.
3. On successful outcome of your audit, you receive your audit report, new certificate and the certification marks.

Yes,  IQ Verify only use auditors who are commercially aware, professional, competent, friendly and highly experienced in the relevant industry. It is an essential part of our UKAS accreditation that our auditors are qualified, competent and experienced in the sectors they audit. Each auditor is subject to evaluation and ongoing witnessing to ensure their continued competence.
