Professional Partnerships

At IQ Verify we recognise that in order to deliver the highest quality certification services, you must first fully understand the sectors within which you operate. 

The development of sector partnerships supports a more holistic comprehension of the needs and requirements unique to each industry. Through working collaboratively, IQ Verify have developed a number of partnerships with key industry bodies of utmost relevance within the sectors in which we operate. These partnerships have shaped our evolving service provision and have allowed for us to deliver added value to those organisations who pursue formal certification through IQ Verify. 

These partnerships fall into three distinct categories, each of which aims to increase the accessibility of certification through IQ Verify:

1. Professional Associations

IQ Verify now offer discounted Surveillance Camera Code of Practice and/or BS102000:2019 audit fees for organisations who are members of our partner Professional Associations. 

2. Drone Service Providers

From insurance discounts through to supportive resources, IQ Verify have developed partnerships with a range of key service providers to support engagement with recognised drone standards.

3. Contract Consultants 

For all audits, preparation is key and IQ Verify understand that some organisations require a little extra help to get ready. For this reason we have developed a partnership with an organisation offering Surveillance Camera Code of Practice consultancy whereby their clients are entitled to a discount on their IQ Verify audit fees.

The Surveillance Camera Code of Practice was issued by the Secretary of State under Section 30 of the Protections of Freedoms Act to ensure that the use of cameras in public places was regulated and only used in pursuit of a specified purpose.

It sets out 12 Guiding Principles which strike a balance between protecting the public and upholding civil liberties. The principles provide a coherent and comprehensive structure to enable good and transparent decision-making that will reassure the public that surveillance cameras are used to protect and support communities rather than spy on them.

The Code came into force in 2013 and applies to relevant bodies in England and Wales who are operating surveillance camera systems, overtly, in public places. In practice, this means the following surveillance systems are included in its remit:

• CCTV – Closed Circuit Television
• BWV – Body Worn Video
• UAS (Drones) – Unmanned Aircraft Systems
• ANPR – Automatic Number Plate Recognition
• AFR – Automatic Facial Recognition

Working in partnership with the British Parking Association (BPA), IQ Verify are proud to be able to offer its members an exclusive 20% discount on all audit and certification fees.   

Following the successful launch of our organisational drone certification suite, in a bid to raise the bar for privacy and data management within UAS, ARPAS-UK have now partnered with IQ Verify to support the certification of its members against the Government linked Surveillance Camera Code of Practice. 

There are three key benefits to this recognised organisational certification for drone operators:

• Public reassurance regarding the appropriateness of data collection and management obtained as part of a flight or deployment.
• Organisational reassurance that all data obtained is in line with best practice UK privacy and surveillance guidelines (inclusive of points 20 through 25 of the Drone Code).
• Verifiable evidence of data management compliance that can be referenced:

- In response to potential challenges and/or information requests

- In support of bids and tenders to help distinguish from the competition.

ARPAS-UK members now receive a 20% discount for Organisational Certification against the Surveillance Camera Code of Practice through IQ Verify. 

As the audit is linked to the UK Government through the Office of the Biometrics and Surveillance Camera Commissioner, successfully audited organisations will also feature on a .gov register of certificated providers. This public register can then be used to support various bids and tenders regards data compliance.

The required audit for Code of Practice Certification is just one day in duration, delivered remotely/ on-site and renewed annually.

In a recent article with Professional Security, IQ Verify spent some time exploring the needs of the investigative sector in the absence of mandatory regulation. Stemming from this article we are delighted to announce that the World Association of Professional Investigators (WAPI) have now entered into a partnership with IQ Verify to support the certification of their membership against BS102000:2018. 

BS 102000:2018 was published in August 2018, replacing BS102000:2013, and is the British Standard for the provision of investigative services. 

Certification against this standard helps providers of investigative services to demonstrate organisational accountability. It is the only recognised standard for investigative bodies who are looking to demonstrate  consistently high quality and best practice compliant service provision.  Certification relies upon a comprehensive audit being conducted by an accredited and accountable Certification Body, such as IQ Verify.

Members of the World Association of Professional Investigators are now entitled to a 20% discount for Organisational Certification against BS102000 through IQ Verify.
